I suppose it's just how YOU prefer it.LalyluIloveUhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08835827568509085431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796606882774669270.post-37589843635129684872017-07-18T14:04:34.170-04:002017-07-18T14:04:34.170-04:00Might let the blackberries and sugar "sit&quo...Might let the blackberries and sugar "sit" for awhile before making the cobbler (macerate)...the sugar will bring out the juices of the berries as it sits...the longer the more juice...now most recipes say to let them sit for 25-30 minutes...but...I would let them sit for an hour...that's just me...LalyluIloveUhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08835827568509085431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796606882774669270.post-27467763704026526712015-03-07T13:07:59.124-05:002015-03-07T13:07:59.124-05:00That is called pie. Pie isn't.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796606882774669270.post-85841093609489785332014-07-08T17:09:02.480-04:002014-07-08T17:09:02.480-04:00Thank you so much. It's more work than cake-like cobblers but well worth it for the great flavor and memories. Thank you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796606882774669270.post-68398566453877731782013-02-22T16:10:48.615-05:002013-02-22T16:10:48.615-05:00Oh my LORD! lol..My dear ole' Momma puts all o...Oh my LORD! lol..My dear ole' Momma puts all of these "What ya'all call old fashion deep south blackberry cobbler" to shame. She took the time and effort to make and roll out a crust for the top and bottom of a 9"x13" pan. That is what a true blue old fashion blackberry cobbler is here in south east missouri. No short cuts here! lol...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796606882774669270.post-10422002643966190682012-06-28T11:40:14.531-04:002012-06-28T11:40:14.531-04:00Thanks for your suggestions! Adding water or juice will certainly help. This definitely is a cobbler that benefits from lots of juice!Helen Sturgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01128166072493914341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796606882774669270.post-3822289866424599222012-05-30T23:58:27.521-04:002012-05-30T23:58:27.521-04:00Tried the recipe. Perhaps my native wild berries were not as juicy as cultivated ones would be. I would recommend stirring the sugar/cornstarch mixture in about 1/2 cup "or so" of cold water and cook for a couple of minutes. Also, every southern cook knows everything is better with butter. (Not something that Paula invented although she has made it an axiom.) So, I put pats of butter throughout the dish before baking. The cobbler, however, was still delicious. Made even better with a bit of heavy cream poured over the top just before eating.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3796606882774669270.post-13522988967035948832012-05-30T21:34:21.404-04:002012-05-30T21:34:21.404-04:00A native southern country cook might think needing...A native southern country cook might think needing a recipe for blackberry cobbler is like needing a recipe for sweet tea. But, this native southern country cook is thankful for your posting this recipe. I want to do right by my precious harvest of wild blackberries and I think this recipe will do that. Will report back with the yum yum quotient.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
